The New Girl, part 1
It's finally here! Sorry it took so long. This is based on a true story.

Emily had actually been in public school for most of her life, but when she got to 5th grade, she started having more trouble with it. The behavior of the kids in her classes had been getting progressively worse since 3rd grade, and by 5th grade, it had gotten so bad that it made it hard to learn, because the teacher continually had to stop teaching to get the kids to stop misbehaving or even teasing her when she had trouble with her English. (She was originally from Argentina.) There was also lots of group punishment that really wasn't fair. So, after a few months, Emily's mom decided to pull her out of public school and try homeschooling for a little while.

Emily was homeschooled for the rest of 5th and all of 6th grade.
But close to the end of 6th grade, Emily was really starting to wonder what public middle school was like. She had heard there was a lot of homework, but it also sounded kind of fun. When her younger sister decided she wanted to go back for 3rd grade (she had been pulled out in the middle of 1st grade) Emily started to think more seriously about going back.
So she and her mom made a pros and cons list about public school.

She talked about it a lot with her parents, and they finally came to a decision. She would return to public school! However, this meant jumping straight into 7th grade when everyone else had already had a year to adjust to middle school. (6th grade)

That night, Emily had some trouble sleeping. She hoped she had made the right decision.
Part 2 coming soon! (And yes, it actually is) ;)
